Ring - Glacial - Silver

Glacial Ring brings Kevin Thorne’s signature tension setting into a sculptural square band. Three cubic zirconia stones are held within the setting, where perpendicular components extend into the body of the ring.

Designed as a balance of dramatic brilliance and precise engineering, the square profile stabilises the substantial top while giving the ring a clear architectural presence.

Materials & form

• 925 sterling silver with a polished finish
• Three cubic zirconia stones: 15 mm diameter round brilliant (approximately 22 ct CZ; diamond equivalent weight approximately 12.8 ct), 12 mm diameter round brilliant (approximately 7 ct CZ; diamond equivalent weight approximately 5.7 ct), and 10 × 14 mm radiant cut (approximately 12 ct CZ; diamond equivalent weight approximately 8 ct)
• 31 mm high × 25 mm wide × 25 mm deep; approximately 28 g overall weight
• Square band; each size has the same top stone arrangement

Design & Making

Designed, prototyped, and tested by Kevin Hailiang Yu in Auckland; lost-wax cast and hand-assembled by a specialist manufacturing partner in China, with a polished finish.
